Inuit ivory and baleen spear.

Evidence
This is an ivory spear tip fitted into baleen spear shaft. And riveted with copper. The spear head is held in the wooden shaft be sealskins strips.

Perspective
These were often called manukiti because they were hidden inside the manu or front part of the parka.

Significance
This style of harpoon head would have been used for hunting smaller sea mammals. This weapon was probably a personal weapon. It would have been carried inside the parka near the neck and would have been retrieved when in danger from an animal at close hand or an enemy. It was designed for stabbing by hand.
