Bone harpoon tip

This bone harpoon tip was created between 1860 and 1925. It was found at Kekerten Whaling Station on Kekerten Island in Cumberland Sound by archaeologist Marc Stevenson at a site designated Borden Number LkDf-3.

Significance
Harpoon tips were fitted into or lashed to a linger shaft of the harpoon. The sakku rested on the tip and was secured by the rope.
