Woman with qaurut (headband)

Woman with qaurut (headband).

Evidence
The copper forehead plate would have been made from native copper that was beaten flat and shaped.

Perspective
These headbands were highly valued and passed down in families.

Significance
Beaded shoulder pads (tuijirutii) were entirely decorative as was the small pouch around her neck. Although this would have been a very convenient pouch for carrying small precious items.
